Antipolo city: Electoral Board (EB) members who will be serving in the March 14 special congressional polls in Antipolo City's 2nd District are set to receive at least PHP11,000. Based on Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution No. 11198, the honoraria for the chairpersons and members are PHP12,000 and PHP11,000, respectively.
According to Philippines News Agency, the honoraria are inclusive of travel, communication, and meal allowances. The poll body stated that EB chairs and members will be entitled to a minimum of 10 days of service credits if they are government employees. Additionally, special polls workers will receive PHP500,000 in death benefits and PHP200,000 in medical assistance.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia highlighted that the honoraria and benefits mirror those given to individuals who served in the May 2025 polls. He emphasized that the compensation for teachers is non-negotiable, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the electoral process. Each clustered precinct will have an EB comprising a chairperson, poll clerk, and a third member.
For the upcoming Antipolo special polls, the district will have 348 clustered precincts to accommodate its 252,793 registered voters. Garcia also welcomed the declaration of March 14 as a special non-working day in the district under Proclamation No. 1173 by Malaca±ang. He noted that this move will facilitate voter participation in the 2nd District.
