Manila: Far Eastern University (FEU) booked a semis berth after beating De La Salle University, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18, in the 2026 V-League Collegiate Challenge at Gameville Central Park in Mandaluyong City on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Amet Bituin finished with 15 points and 13 excellent receptions in leading the defending champion Tamaraws to their fourth straight win. Team captain Dryx Saavedra contributed 14 points and five digs, while Charles Absin had 12 points, including five blocks.
"We will still focus on the serve-and-pass aspect of the game. As for La Salle, they are still in transition under Coach Babes (Castillo); they haven't quite mastered what the coaches want yet," FEU head coach Eddieson Orcullo said after the match. "We probably shouldn't stop what we're doing. We need to fine-tune the things we want to achieve so that we remain well-prepared for our upcoming matches."
Yoyong Mendoza and Issa Ousseini scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for La Salle, which took its fourth loss against two wins.
In the other game, Mapua University survived Arellano University, 26-24, 25-14, 17-25, 28-26. Ar-Jay Ramos led the Cardinals with 24 points, 17 excellent receptions, and four digs. Sam Andrei Alcantara chipped in 19 points and six digs. Daniel Agovida finished with 14 points for the Chiefs. CJ Dominguito and Jiwen Sinuto added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
