Taguig city: Authorities seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million and arrested a 40-year-old tricycle driver in an anti-drug operation in Taguig City on April 6.
According to Philippines News Agency, Taguig City Police Station chief Col. Julius A±onuevo reported the arrest of the suspect, a resident of Maharlika Village, during a sting operation conducted along Mindanao Avenue. The operation was executed by operatives from the Taguig Police Substation 7 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Southern District Office.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of four knot-tied plastic sachets containing 500 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect. The individual is now facing charges under Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Col. A±onuevo emphasized that the successful operation underscores the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies. "This operation shows how closely we're working with PDEA to go after illegal drugs in Taguig. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating operasyon (Our operations are unceasing). We will make sure those involved are caught and made accountable," he stated.
