San juan: Savouge Aesthetics defeated ProVolley Academy of Australia, 25-15, 25-13, 25-19, in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan on Saturday. Skipper Hero Austria scored nine points as the Spin Doctors notched their second win in the round-robin six-team semifinals of the tournament organized by Sports Vision.
According to Philippines News Agency, Savouge head coach Sydney Calderon expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “I told them, as you can see, we used more combination plays today. Because in terms of height, we were really at a disadvantage, so I said fast plays, combination plays. So, I’m happy with the result.” Despite the victory, Calderon noted some dissatisfaction with the team’s performance in the third set, expressing a desire for improvement.
John Christian Enarciso contributed significantly with 14 excellent sets and two points during the one-hour-and-14-minute match. The Spin Doctors aim to maintain their momentum as they face the defending champion Cignal HD Spikers at 3 p.m. on Monday.
On the opposing side, Filipino Jude Aspero made notable contributions with seven points and 16 excellent receptions. Captain Samuel Hansen and Isaac Relova each added six points for Pro Volley Academy, which suffered its second consecutive loss. Pro Volley Academy is set to compete against Criss Cross at 5 p.m. on Monday.
