Some Sea Travel Resumes in NorMin After Typhoon Tino

Cagayan de oro: Sea travel between Camiguin and Misamis Oriental resumed Tuesday, but other ports in Northern Mindanao remain suspended after Typhoon Tino. The Philippine Coast Guard in Camiguin lifted the suspension following a PAGASA advisory.

According to Philippines News Agency, “Moreover, all motor bancas in the area of responsibility are to take extra precautionary measures and advised to remain vigilant and always be aware of the weather condition before venture at sea to avoid any untoward incidents,” the advisory said.

However, PCG stations in Misamis Occidental and this city maintained suspensions, particularly for vessels bound for the Visayas, as the typhoon has yet to leave the Philippine area of responsibility. At least 87 passengers were stranded at the city’s seaport in Barangay Macabalan on Monday evening due to the travel suspension.
