Shear Line Brings Rain and Eases Travel Restrictions in Caraga

Caraga: Local governments across Caraga are monitoring conditions Monday as the shear line brings rain to the region. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration forecast higher rainfall for Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte. Most of the region, including Butuan City, experienced cloudy skies and scattered showers throughout the weekend. Authorities advised residents to stay alert and avoid flood-prone areas.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte (CGS-SDN) lifted a temporary travel suspension for vessels over 250 gross tonnage bound for Dinagat Islands. However, the suspension remains for smaller vessels (35 gross tonnage and below) heading to Siargao Island. The coast guard urged authorized vessel masters to exercise caution and maintain vigilance due to unpredictable conditions.
