Manila: The Senate outlined the updated roster of priority measures under the third Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).
According to Philippines News Agency, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, in a Viber message to reporters Tuesday, stated that the LEDAC agenda includes the proposed National Center for Geriatric Health and the Classroom Acceleration Program, alongside major governance measures such as the Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act.
Also included in the priority list are the Independent Philippine Commission bill, the proposed anti-political dynasty bill, and amendments to the party-list law, as well as 52 other legislative proposals endorsed for accelerated consideration.
Sotto mentioned that the LEDAC recently expanded the list to include amendments to the Anti-Online Abuse or Exploitation of Children Act and the Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials law, addressing growing concerns over digital-based crimes involving minors.
He further noted that proposals seeking the abolition of the travel tax and the passage of anti-fake news measures were incorporated into the priority agenda. The LEDAC-identified measures are expected to serve as the basis for closer coordination between the executive and legislative branches as Congress moves to fast-track priority legislation.
