Valencia city: Rescuers in Valencia City, Bukidnon continued their search for three remaining victims of a recent flash flood.
According to Philippines News Agency, Jovenone Ellacone, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), stated that eight people were initially reported missing after the September 17 flooding, but five have since been found. He mentioned that current efforts involve excavating areas identified by K9 units.
K9 units from the Army and the Philippine Coast Guard have been deployed to assist in the search. Additionally, the CDRRMOs of Cagayan de Oro City and Opol, Misamis Oriental have provided support to the ongoing retrieval operations.
In response to the disaster, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Northern Mindanao has distributed over 500 family food packs and hygiene kits to the affected families in Bukidnon.
