Rain showers seen in most parts of PH due ITCZ, frontal system

Parts of the country will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and frontal system, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Eastern and Central Visayas.

Meanwhile, frontal system or a transition-boundary separating two air masses of contrasting properties is affecting extreme Northern Luzon, particularly Batanes.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.

Residents are warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds headed south to southwest will blow over Northern Luzon, with slight to moderate seas.

The rest of the country will have the same wind speed but headed southeast to south, with similar coastal water conditions.

Temperatures in Metro Manila will range from 25°C to 36°C; Baguio City, 18°C to 26°C; Cebu, 26°C to 31°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 25°C to 32°C; and Davao, 25°C to 31°C.
