Manila: The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has issued a warning to the public about individuals impersonating agency officials following reports of a fictitious 'Usec. Janet Ong' purportedly facilitating transactions associated with the department.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DBM clarified in a social media advisory posted on Wednesday that there is no official by the name of 'Usec. Janet Ong' within their ranks, emphasizing that any transactions linked to this name are fraudulent and unauthorized. The department reiterated that any communication or deal claiming endorsement from this non-existent official holds no legal validity and should be approached with caution.
The agency further highlighted the ongoing threat posed by scammers who exploit the identities of government officials to manipulate procurement activities, financial transactions, or other government-related dealings. The DBM firmly stated that it neither authorizes nor tolerates any form of fraudulent activity.
