PSA Brings National ID Registration to Remote Masbate Towns

Masbate: The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Masbate province launched a six-day mobile registration drive for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the country's national ID system, across multiple municipalities, the agency announced Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, at least 27 barangays from four municipalities are scheduled for registration until Saturday. "Residents of all ages are encouraged to visit the mobile registration sites to apply for their National ID, claim their paper-based ID (if available), or seek assistance in creating their Digital ID," the post stated.

Registration is open to all Filipino residents aged 0 and above. Applicants must bring original documents: for children aged 0-4, an original birth certificate, parent or guardian's national ID, and proof of presence during registration; for those aged 5 and above, an original birth certificate or any government-issued ID.

Aside from new registrations, PSA Masbate will also process Step 2 national ID registration, issue paper-based national IDs, assist with digital ID generation, and retrieve transaction numbers. The agency reminded the public that all services are free of charge.

Based on PSA Bicol records, about 5.29 million Bicolanos registered in the PhilSys from 2021 to 2025.
