Legazpi city: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) awarded officers and staff Monday for their significant contributions in carrying out the Philippine National Police mandate to serve and protect. During the flag-raising ceremony at Camp Simeon A. Ola here, Col. Ronaldo Fulo, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Deputy Regional Director for Administration, led the awarding of the Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) and Medalya ng Pagkilala (Medal of Recognition).
According to Philippines News Agency, the Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to Capt. Rudy Divinagracia and Cpl. Randy Genetia, Juban Municipal Police Station (MPS) team leader and operating team member, respectively, for the arrest of the No. 10 Regional Most Wanted Person for qualified rape on Feb. 4. "We give credit to the active participation of the community. The police station alone will not accomplish this kind of arrest without the help of the community, particularly those in the barangay," Divinagracia said in a phone interview.
He added that collaboration with the local chief executive provides a greater impact in maintaining peace and order in Juban. "They give us the support we need in terms of resolving crimes and ensuring the safety of the people. It is our mandate to protect the community and to live with it," he said.
The Medalya ng Pagkilala was awarded to Ligao City Police Station chief Lt. Col. Kim Lawrence Arenas and Daraga MPS chief Lt. Col. Larry Ni±o Prepotente for exemplary leadership and performance. Staff Sgts. Vimar Adofina and Apollo Pallan Jr. of the Regional Headquarters Support Unit (RHSU) received the same award for their services as repair and maintenance staff; and non-commissioned officers Pat. Ma. Camile Fernandez of the regional headquarters as command event facilitator.
Non-uniformed staff Lilany Grecia of Juban MPS was recognized for her role as crime registrar, and Danilo Mallopa of RHSU as camp electrician for maintaining life support systems. A Certificate of Appreciation was given to Layertech Software Labs, Inc. for its partnership in processing and presenting the Community Engagement Survey since 2022, contributing to data-driven public service in Bicol.
