'Jesus is the King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war,' the pope said during his Palm Sunday Mass at St. Peter's Square. According to Philippines News Agency, the pope emphasized that Jesus 'does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them.' He urged people to 'lay down your weapons' and to 'remember that you are brothers and sisters.' The pope also took the occasion to pray for victims of violence. He invoked Holy Mary, referring to her as the 'woman of the third day,' and prayed for the end of death's dominion, the fading of war, and the relief of the poor's suffering.
