Police Identify One Suspect in Timog Double Slay Case

Quezon city: The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has identified one of the two suspects involved in a fatal shooting at the intersection of Timog Avenue and EDSA, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

According to Philippines News Agency, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tua±o announced that four latent prints recovered from the motorcycle used by the suspects have provided significant leads. The motorcycle was discovered abandoned shortly after the ambush on April 28.

Tua±o confirmed, "Puwede lang namin i-share sa inyo, identified na po 'yung isa doon sa dalawa (What we can only share with you is that one of the two suspects has been identified)," though he withheld further details due to ongoing manhunt operations.

The victims, sports patron and businessman Perry Mariano, 75, along with his driver, Norberto Orimaco, 51, were attacked by two assailants on a motorcycle and succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

In a separate interview, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that investigators are considering business rivalry as a possible motive for the killings. "Hopefully we can go to the bottom of this incident, unmasking the mastermind and getting to know [the] motive," he added.
