Manila: Independence Day celebrations and related protest activities across the country remained peaceful and orderly on Friday, with no major incidents reported, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP). The celebrations were closely monitored by the PNP to ensure public safety and maintain peace.

According to Philippines News Agency, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. confirmed in a statement, "As of this hour, the localized demonstrations and public assemblies being held across the country in observance of Independence Day have remained completely peaceful and orderly, with no major untoward incidents reported." He emphasized the continued vigilance of police units nationwide, following directives from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

In preparation for the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the PNP had put all police regional offices and national support units under full alert status. Approximately 89,000 police personnel were deployed across the nation to secure commemorative activities, public assemblies, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and other areas expected to attract large crowds.

All regional and local police units were instructed to maintain maximum visibility in areas hosting protests and celebrations. Police personnel were further directed to exercise maximum tolerance and strictly adhere to established crowd-management protocols to prevent any disturbances.

The PNP expressed its commitment to coordinating closely with local government units, event organizers, and other government agencies to sustain comprehensive security coverage throughout the day's events.
