Sultan kudarat: The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that over 400 weak to moderate earthquakes were recorded around Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, between 10:52 p.m. on January 19 and 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, at least 135 of these earthquakes, with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 5.2, were accurately plotted or located. Phivolcs noted that 20 of the quakes were felt by residents in the area, prompting safety advisories from the agency.
Phivolcs has issued an advisory urging the public to be prepared and adhere to safety protocols such as "duck/drop, cover and hold." Additionally, individuals in coastal areas have been advised to remain vigilant and watchful for any signs of a potential tsunami.
The agency also encourages the public to stay informed by checking for updates on the Phivolcs website or through their official social media channels.
