Antique: The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) is actively encouraging commercial establishments in Antique to enroll their employees in the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP). PhilHealth Regional Office public affairs unit head Janimhe Jalbuna emphasized this initiative during a forum, highlighting the need to reach out to employers of the remaining 187,998 members who have not yet registered for the enhanced primary care benefit program.
According to Philippines News Agency, in Antique, there are currently 591,425 registered members and dependents, but only 403,427 have enrolled in YAKAP as of October 31. Jalbuna advised business owners to coordinate with their Local Health Insurance Office to facilitate the enrollment process.
PhilHealth has established 23 accredited YAKAP clinics and government-owned hospitals within the province. Starting next year, medicines prescribed by these accredited clinics will be available at no cost under PhilHealth’s Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program. Jalbuna mentioned that individuals enrolled in YAKAP, along with their dependents, can access up to PHP20,000 worth of medicines annually through the GAMOT initiative.
