PhilHealth Reports Over 1 Million Enrollments in YAKAP Program in Davao Region

Davao region: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in Davao Region (PhilHealth-11) announced that 1,093,160 individuals have enrolled in the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP). The data, reported as of Thursday, highlights the program's reach across various provinces.

According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth-11 Information Officer Kleah Guevarra provided details on the distribution of beneficiaries: Davao del Sur has 486,919 enrollees, Davao del Norte 205,768, Davao de Oro 187,917, Davao Oriental 143,924, and Davao Occidental 68,632. This year, PhilHealth has disbursed PHP107.7 million in YAKAP claims, accredited 174 YAKAP clinics, and enlisted 48 Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) facilities.

Guevarra emphasized the inclusive nature of the YAKAP and GAMOT programs, encouraging members and their dependents to register with a YAKAP clinic of their choice to access services. She highlighted the accreditation of YAKAP clinics across all provinces in Region 11 to ensure service accessibility and mentioned efforts to strengthen partnerships with providers to increase the number of accredited GAMOT facilities.

Addressing registration challenges, Guevarra noted the importance of patient preference in the process. Members are encouraged to take responsibility for registering and being empaneled at their selected YAKAP clinic. Once the initial patient encounter and mutual care agreement are completed, members are empaneled for at least one year.

PhilHealth-11 is also implementing setting-based registration to enhance enrollment, offering assistance in workplaces, schools, and communities. Guevarra stated that this approach aims to increase the registration rate of YAKAP members.

The YAKAP program, previously known as the Konsulta program, is a primary care benefit package providing free, comprehensive, and preventive healthcare to all PhilHealth members and their dependents. It includes consultations, essential laboratory tests, medicines, and cancer screenings through accredited providers, aiming to reduce out-of-pocket costs.
