Manila: The Philippine Navy (PN) and Globalport Terminals Inc. (GTI) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at fortifying national defense through the creation of an "affiliated reserve unit" within the company. The memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed by PN chief Vice Adm. Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta and GTI chair, Shiela Marie Romero, at the Naval Station Jose Andrada in Manila.
According to Philippines News Agency, the agreement is designed to integrate GTI personnel into the national reserve force, ensuring that critical port operations continue seamlessly during national emergencies. This collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines will see GTI employees organized and trained to support national defense initiatives.
The partnership underscores GTI's pivotal role in maritime and port operations, emphasizing its capacity to meet the logistical and operational demands of the Philippine Navy.
