PH Athletes Set for Showdown at 2026 Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay

Subic bay: The country's top elite athletes and promising juniors are ready for the 2026 Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay, set to be held at the Subic Freeport Zone on May 2-3.

According to Philippines News Agency, the competition in the Elite category is scheduled for Sunday. Athletes such as Dayshaun Ramos, Kim Andrew Remolino, and Matthew Justine Hermosa will compete against reigning men's champion Takuto Oshima of Japan and runner-up Daryn Konysbayev of Kazakhstan. Female athletes, including Faith Raven Alcoseba and Erika Burgos, will face defending champion Manami Hayashi of Japan and bronze medalist Hye Rim Jeong of South Korea.

In the Junior category, local participants like Darell Bada and Euan Andrew Ramos will compete against a challenging field, highlighted by Kazakhstan's Ramazan Ainegov and Alua Nurmuhamet. Ainegov, ranked No. 728 in the world, recently placed fourth in the 2026 Asian Beach Games in China, while Nurmuhamet, ranked No. 638, dominated the 2025 Asian Triathlon Youth and U15 Championships in Saudi Arabia.

Known locally as SuBIT, the Subic Bay International Triathlon is a key stop in the Asia Triathlon Cup series. It serves as an important event for athletes seeking world ranking points and international exposure.
