PCSO Tops GOCC Performance Evaluation Awards with Over 100% Score

Para±aque city: The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has emerged as the top performer in the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) or GCG performance evaluation awards, securing a remarkable performance score exceeding 100 percent for 2024.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PCSO outperformed other leading GOCCs, showcasing its commitment to accountability, good governance, and enhanced service delivery to citizens. The awards ceremony, organized by the GCG, took place on Monday in Para±aque City, where the PCSO was recognized with the highest performance rating of 100.63 percent. This achievement placed the PCSO ahead of other notable GOCCs, with the Mactan-Cebu Airport Authority coming in second with a score of 100.16 percent, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) securing the third spot with 99.92 percent.

Additional GOCCs recognized for their performance included the Clark International Airport Corporation, Landbank of the Philippines, Landbank Countryside Development Foundation, Inc., Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System-Regulatory Office, National Tobacco Administration, and Social Security System.

The GCG highlighted that the PCSO’s 2024 score was a testament to its robust performance across key indicators such as social impact, revenue growth, collection efficiency, budget utilization, customer satisfaction, process efficiency improvements, ISO certification, human resource development, technological advancements, and more.

Moreover, the PCSO gained an extra point for its full compliance with Republic Act 9710, known as the Magna Carta of Women, through its Gender and Development initiatives.

PCSO Chairman Felix Reyes, General Manager Melquiades Robles, and members of the PCSO Board of Directors were present to accept the award. Robles, who was also recognized as one of three Leadership Award Finalists for 2024, expressed that the recognition serves as motivation to further excel in public service. The PCSO’s rating saw a significant increase from 56.3 percent in 2021 to 92.03 percent in 2022, earning it the title of Most Improved GOCC. In 2023, it was honored as one of the Top 10 GOCCs with a score of 98.01 percent.

Beyond its performance accolades, the PCSO continues to provide essential public services through its flagship initiatives, such as the Patient Transport Vehicle Distribution to improve healthcare access, the Medical Assistance Program for patients with critical health needs, the Medical Equipment Donation Program to enhance hospital capacities, and ongoing relief operations and disaster response efforts for communities impacted by calamities.
