Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has mandated all government agencies to submit progress reports on their ongoing projects every two weeks, cautioning officials against submitting misleading or embellished updates.
According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that the President issued this directive during a meeting with his economic team at Malaca±an Palace. The discussions centered on accelerating reforms and boosting the country's economy. President Marcos emphasized the importance of genuine reform being accompanied by tangible progress, urging the need to move forward.
Castro stated that President Marcos has instructed the fast-tracking of infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the construction of schools and classrooms. She mentioned that the President has also ordered the monitoring of agencies and their projects every two weeks to evaluate their progress.
The meeting also covered the digitalization of government processes to expedite work. Castro emphasized that the President was resolute in his warning to all agencies, advising them against submitting false reports. She clarified that the President demands accuracy in reporting as agencies will now be under regular scrutiny.
Furthermore, Castro noted that officials who deliberately submit false reports or are found negligent will face sanctions, which could include dismissal from service.
