Pasay city: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing every Filipino family with a safe, decent, and affordable home, highlighting significant progress in expanding the national housing program.
According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos, speaking at the National Housing Expo 2025 held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, emphasized the collaboration between the government, the private sector, and housing agencies in delivering comprehensive housing services. These services include design planning, financial assistance, and housing loan processing.
Marcos acknowledged the persistent challenge of homeownership for many Filipinos, with numerous families still renting or frequently relocating. He stressed the urgent need to expand and accelerate housing initiatives to ensure a stable and secure home for all.
Recognizing the progress made, Marcos pointed to the successful collaboration with the private sector and housing agencies. He highlighted the Pag-IBIG Fund as a key partner in housing development, noting that around PHP75 billion in cash loans were released to nearly three million members, providing essential financial relief.
Marcos also introduced the Green Lane Program, designed to ensure housing projects are climate-resilient and capable of withstanding environmental challenges. He emphasized the cooperation among the government, private sector, and housing agencies as a driving force behind the program’s success.
The Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program continues to increase affordable housing opportunities through the Pag-IBIG Fund. Marcos assured that the government’s housing efforts would persist until every Filipino had a home they could call their own. He highlighted that low-income Filipinos can avail of affordable housing loans with an annual interest rate of only 3 percent through the Pag-IBIG Fund. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), as well as beneficiaries and graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), are also eligible for assistance under the expanded initiative.
During the event, Marcos led the turnover of Notices of Approval and Certificates of Entitlement to select housing beneficiaries. Beneficiaries from Los Ba±os, Laguna; Lucena City; Iloilo City; and Caloocan City were granted ownership of the lands they have long occupied.
The President expressed gratitude to the private sector, housing developers, financial institutions, and other stakeholders for their steadfast partnership in realizing the government’s housing goals.
