PBBM Encourages Filipinos to Embrace Light and Goodness During Christmas

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has called on Filipinos to embody a 'source of light and goodness' as they observe the Christmas season, highlighting the importance of gratitude and togetherness.

According to Philippines News Agency, in his Christmas message, President Marcos emphasized the significance of the season as a time to honor the birth of Jesus Christ, give thanks for the year's blessings, and cherish moments with family and loved ones. He highlighted the unique and festive spirit of a Filipino Christmas, which provides opportunities to appreciate and value life's many blessings.

President Marcos stated, "Once again, it is the time of the year when we gather to honor the birth of Christ our Savior, thank the Lord Almighty for all the graces that we have received throughout the year, and enjoy the company of our dearest friends, families, and loved ones."

While celebrating the holidays, President Marcos urged Filipinos to remember those in need, particularly the poor, the sick, calamity victims, and marginalized sectors. He encouraged citizens to follow Christ's example by sharing their blessings and showing compassion and generosity, especially towards children, who are central to the Christmas festivities.

"Like Jesus who brought salvation to the world, let us share our abundance with the people around us," Marcos said. "Let us bring kindness, happiness, and good cheer to everyone we meet, especially to our children for whom these festivities are really for."

President Marcos expressed his hope that the deepest desires of Filipinos' hearts may be realized and that love and goodwill continue to guide families and communities, not just during the holiday season but in the coming years.

"Let us become a source of light and goodness to our fellow Filipinos this Christmas and in the years to come," he concluded.
