Palace Highlights DICT’s CLICK Program’s Role in Creating Tech-Savvy Filipinos

Manila: The Courses for Literacy in Internet and Computer Knowledge (CLICK) Program of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is crucial in producing a generation of ‘tech-savvy and future-ready’ Filipinos, Malaca±ang announced. This statement came as Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro highlighted the turnover of 75 laptops to two community colleges in Camarines Sur as ‘good news’.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DICT’s Project CLICK aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure no Filipino is left behind as the country undergoes digital transformation. Under the program, the Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College (GMVCC) in Libmanan town received 50 laptops, while Baao Community College (BCC) received 25.

In a Palace press briefing, Castro mentioned that the DICT’s initiative promotes digital access as a fundamental right rather than a privilege. The laptops are expected to aid students, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and local government workers in becoming innovative and exploring new opportunities.

With enhanced digital resource access, improved connectivity, better academic outcomes, and a generation of tech-savvy and future-ready Filipinos are anticipated.
