Palace Confirms President Marcos Is Healthy Amid Rumors

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is reportedly "well and healthy," according to Malaca±ang, countering circulating rumors that he was admitted to St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro communicated via text message to reporters that President Marcos had a private meeting with the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) on Saturday morning. Castro confirmed, "The President was in a private meeting with PMS this morning. He is well, healthy and working even on a Saturday."

Rumors have been widespread online regarding Marcos' health, with some suggesting he has colon cancer. These claims were accompanied by fabricated medical records shared on social media, leading the National Bureau of Investigation to take legal action against those responsible for the fake documents.

President Marcos, who has previously recovered from diverticulitis-a condition marked by inflammation of small pouches in the colon-has resumed his public duties and remains active. Malaca±ang has consistently refuted claims that Marcos' health has worsened.

At 68, President Marcos took a brief hiatus post-diagnosis but has consistently reassured the public that he is not afflicted by a life-threatening condition.
