PAL Reroutes, Expands Domestic Operations

Manila: Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is rerouting all its turboprop flights via Manila to Cebu, Clark, and Iloilo beginning March 29, it announced Monday. The move is in line with the Manila Slot Coordination Committee's resolution to gradually phase out turboprop operations in the country's main gateway.

According to Philippines News Agency, "Passengers with existing bookings for these flights will be rerouted to PAL's alternative hubs in Cebu, Clark, and Iloilo, ensuring continued connectivity to affected destinations while maintaining full compliance with updated regulatory requirements," PAL said in an advisory.

Flights to and from Busuanga (Coron) and Siargao will be relocated to Clark. Flights going to and from Antique will fly via Iloilo, while services to and from Catarman will be via Cebu.

PAL, meanwhile, said that with the relocation of turboprop operations, domestic jet services between Manila and high demand routes will be increased starting March. These routes are:

Manila-Cebu: up to 76 flights weekly

Manila-Dumaguete: up to 21 flights weekly

Manila-Iloilo: up to 42 flights weekly

Manila-Roxas: up to 14 flights weekly

Manila-Tacloban: up to 28 flights weekly
