Pasay city: The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) on Tuesday formally launched the second leg of its Photography Contest Exhibit at The Grove, Newport Mall, in collaboration with Newport World Resorts (NWR).
According to Philippines News Agency, the exhibit features the 48 grand finalists of the 2025 PAGCOR Photography Contests, with entries centered around the theme 'Infrastructure for Economic Development.' The photographs, captured using mobile phones, drones, and traditional cameras, highlight the vital role of infrastructure like roads, bridges, airports, and energy sites in facilitating growth across communities.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco, present at the exhibit's inauguration, emphasized the significance of infrastructure as 'pathways of progress' that connect communities, energize industries, and create opportunities. He remarked that the photographs serve as visual reminders of the tangible outcomes produced by responsible governance and strategic investment.
NWR President and CEO Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez expressed pride in hosting the exhibit at Newport Mall, noting how the display underscores the impact of infrastructure development on daily life. He extended gratitude to PAGCOR for creating platforms that highlight Filipino talent while focusing on the nation's development narrative.
Initially showcased in September 2025 at MET Live Mall in Pasay City, the exhibit's current run at Newport Mall is part of a planned nationwide tour to present the 2025 finalists' works to a wider audience. The exhibition will be open to the public until March 27 before proceeding to Cebu and Davao later this month.
During the event, Tengco also encouraged amateur and professional photographers to participate in PAGCOR's 2026 Photography Contest, themed 'Kids@Play,' which aims to capture moments of childhood play that reflect joy, discipline, creativity, and sportsmanship.
