Antique: The Pag-IBIG Fund in Antique is intensifying its membership campaign, targeting the new contract of service (COS) workers in local government units (LGUs), as it eyes reaching 33,000 members this 2026 from last year's over 23,000. Pag-IBIG Fund Antique Branch Manager Donald Alton Cahilo said in an interview on Monday that they are conducting LGU visitation to campaign for the enrollment and are open to conducting orientation even on Saturdays and Sundays upon invitation of the LGUs.
According to Philippines News Agency, Cahilo said LGUs are encouraged to sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for them to facilitate the remittances to Pag-IBIG. With the agreement, the LGU can automatically deduct the PHP200 payment contribution from their monthly salary. However, the local government is not required to have a counterpart contribution because they do not have an employer-employee relationship.
A member can already apply for multi-purpose and calamity loans after 12 months of remittance, he said. 'A COS who is a Pag-IBIG member but has not continued their monthly remittance for a time may also resume their contribution with the Pag-IBIG Antique Branch,' he added.
Meanwhile, Cahilo said the application for calamity loan after the province was declared under the state of calamity due to Typhoon Opong ended on Jan. 15. 'The calamity loan was offered for only 90 days since the Antique provincial board had declared the province under the state of calamity,' he said.
