Bicol: The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) has prepositioned over PHP223 million in relief resources to mitigate the potential impact of Super Typhoon Nando (international name Ragasa).
According to Philippines News Agency, DSWD-5 Director Norman Laurio reported that more than 208,079 family food packs (FFIs) and 25,788 non-food items (NFIs) are ready for distribution. The supplies include family kits, sleeping kits, hygiene kits, and kitchen kits stored in various warehouses. The DSWD has set aside PHP3 million in standby funds for distribution to affected families.
The agency’s quick response teams are on high alert and in coordination with local social welfare and development offices. They are also ready for the distribution of FFPs and NFIs, and providing support for camp coordination and camp management-internally displaced persons protection as required.
