P164.15-M Illegal Drugs Seized, 92 Suspects Nabbed in One Week Anti-Drug Operations

Manila: Some PHP164.15 million worth of illegal drugs were seized while 92 suspects were arrested in government anti-drug operations conducted from Jan. 9 to 16, 2026. The arrests and seizures were the products of 87 anti-illegal drug operations, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, of the 92 arrested, 80 were pushers, five were drug den visitors, three were den owners/maintainers, and four were nabbed for drug possession. Among the illegal drugs confiscated were 5,424 grams of shabu seized in two interdiction operations in Pasay City on Jan. 13 and 14, while 2,000.40 grams of shabu were seized in Quezon City on Jan. 12. Meanwhile, 8,000 grams of shabu were seized in Cebu on Jan. 13.

The PDEA also reported that some 155,170 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants were destroyed, while over 33,496.76 grams of dried marijuana leaves and 2,000 grams of marijuana fruiting top were seized in Benguet and Kalinga. The confiscated pieces of evidence are now undergoing thorough laboratory examination and custodial procedures in preparation for the filing of appropriate charges in court against all arrested individuals.

In a statement, PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez stated the figures show safer communities, lives saved from drug addiction, and drug syndicates weakened. He highlighted the strong coordination between PDEA regional offices, the PNP (Philippine National Police), and other law enforcement agencies, which made these results possible, proving that the campaign against illegal drugs continues to protect the Filipino people.
