Over 5,000 Learners Attend First Flag-Raising Ceremony at Antique National School

Antique: Over 5,000 learners of the Antique National School (ANS), the biggest public school in the province, attended the first flag-raising ceremony, marking the start of the first day of the school year 2026-2027, on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, ANS principal Roger Jomolo shared that Antique Police Provincial Police Director Col. Ryan Devaras was present at the ceremony. Col. Devaras encouraged the learners to adhere to the Department of Education's (DepEd) policy, which aims to maintain a safe and motivating learning environment.

Principal Jomolo explained that DepEd Order No. 4 includes anti-bullying measures and safety protocols to protect learners on school premises. Additionally, the school nurse addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of health and nutrition for all students.

Jomolo also mentioned that the school will continue to enroll learners until July, despite classes having already commenced. He highlighted that students need only to bring their report cards for enrollment.
