Nxled’s Tolentino Named PVL Press Corps Player of the Week

Antipolo: Nxled rookie Jule Tolentino, one of the Premier Volleyball League's (PVL) most promising young setters, was named Press Corps Player of the Week Sunday. The former De La Salle University standout earned the honor for the period Feb. 10 to 14 after leading the Chameleons to a thrilling 25-19, 25-22, 27-25 victory over the Cignal Super Spikers in the All-Filipino Conference at Ynares Center in Antipolo on Saturday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Tolentino delivered 19 excellent sets and five points on two attacks, two kill blocks and an ace. Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips finished with 14 points each, Myla Pablo added 12, and Lyann De Guzman scored nine points to Nxled's balanced attack.

"I always have the mindset that I will just work hard and whether I win or lose, my attitude is the same,' the 23-year-old Tolentino said in a news release. 'Well, maybe I'm grateful for what's happening, but then again, I'm not really complacent, so every day I really want to push myself because I want to reach my highest potential,' the 11th overall pick of the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft added.

Tolentino cited the guidance of veteran teammates in her continuous development. 'I'm thankful to my teammates that they're really used to that kind of situations so they were the ones who stepped up in the last points. I'm really happy that I'm with seasoned players," the 6-foot-2 setter said.
