Northbound Portions of M. Roxas Jr. Flyover to Undergo Retrofitting

Manila: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that retrofitting and strengthening works at the Manuel Roxas Jr. flyover in Manila will commence on Friday. The project aims to address structural improvements on the flyover’s northbound sections.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) stated that the North Manila District Engineering Office will initiate repairs at selected expansion joints on the flyover’s northbound portions starting at 10 p.m. on May 9. To ensure public safety and facilitate the progress of these repairs, partial lane closures will be enforced in segments, with each segment covering two consecutive expansion joints per half-lane.

The repair work is slated to last seven days per segment, ensuring thorough and effective improvements. As part of the ongoing project, the DPWH has advised motorists to anticipate traffic slowdowns in the area. Drivers are encouraged to use service roads as alternate routes to ease congestion during the construction period.

This retrofitting project is part of the “Build Better More” initiative of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., and is led by Secretary Manuel Bonoan. The initiative aims to enhance road safety and traffic efficiency within the National Capital Region (NCR).
