Malacanang: Malaca±ang on Monday dismissed reports of an alleged Cabinet reshuffle under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., including speculations that several officials may be replaced.
According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that there is no basis for the circulating rumors, emphasizing that any changes in the Cabinet remain solely at the discretion of the President. Castro addressed the rumors, stating, "Unang-una, (First of all) I will always serve at the pleasure of the President," when asked about the alleged reshuffling that supposedly included her.
Continuing her statement, Castro said, "Pero sa fake news peddlers, abangan ang susunod na kabanata (But to fake news peddlers, they better stay tuned)," indicating that those spreading false information should be cautious. When questioned about reports suggesting that up to 10 Cabinet members could be affected by a possible shake-up, Castro clarified, "Sa ngayon wala po (So far, there's none)."
The Office of the President has yet to issue any statement confirming or denying any restructuring within the Cabinet. The rumors surfaced after former military chiefs Eduardo A±o and Carlito Galvez Jr. resigned from their posts as National Security Adviser and Presidential Peace Adviser, respectively, last week due to personal reasons.
