NIA-5 Allocates PHP5 Million for Bicol Irrigator Associations’ Livelihood Projects

Bicol: The National Irrigation Administration in Bicol (NIA-5) has allocated over PHP5 million in livelihood assistance funds to 33 irrigator associations in the Bicol Region. NIA-5 Regional Manager Gaudencio John de Vera announced that each association would receive PHP150,000 to support various livelihood projects, including agricultural production, small-scale enterprises, and other community-based economic activities.

According to Philippines News Agency, some of these associations are set to receive their checks by November and December 2025. However, others will have to wait for their scheduled release due to ongoing reviews of their project proposals. De Vera emphasized that the livelihood assistance aims to increase household income and promote self-sufficiency among irrigators.

The selection process for beneficiaries was based on their compliance with program requirements and their ability to manage livelihood projects effectively.
