Manila: The Maguindanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (MDN PPO) based here has a new police director. Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), administered the change of command rites at the MDN PPO headquarters in Barangay Simuay on Monday afternoon.

According to Philippines News Agency, Col. Victor Rito, who will be assigned to the PRO-BAR headquarters, relinquished his post as provincial police director to Col. George Bagundol Jr. De Guzman, in his speech, lauded Rito for his accomplishments and for maintaining law and order in the province. He called on Bagundol to duplicate or even surpass the accomplishments of his predecessor in the peace campaign and fight criminality with precision.

De Guzman further called on Bagundol to intensify the campaign against crime, terrorism, and violent extremism 'to ensure the safety of all Maguindanao del Norte residents.' Maguindanao del Norte is one of the five provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
