Negros oriental: Police in Negros Oriental seized approximately PHP8.4 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 65 suspected drug personalities during enhanced anti-illegal drug operations in May, a police official said Wednesday. Capt. Stephen Jaynard Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO), highlighted that these accomplishments were the result of relentless operations ordered by police director Col. Timmar Alam.

According to Philippines News Agency, the largest drug bust occurred in Zamboanguita town, involving a suspect who is a "repeat offender." The suspect had previously served a jail term but was released due to technicalities. NOrPPO records showed that 58 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in May, leading to the confiscation of 1,240.71 grams of suspected shabu. Six high-value individuals and 59 street-level individuals were arrested during these operations. Additionally, police recovered 50 marijuana plants and 20 grams of dried marijuana leaves.

Polinar emphasized that their operations would continue relentlessly as the province is considered a "trans-shipment point" for illegal drugs to other areas. Beyond drug-related arrests, other significant achievements during the period included the apprehension of 112 wanted individuals, including the No. 1 Most Wanted in the Negros Island Region. Police efforts also resulted in the seizure of over PHP41 million worth of smuggled cigarettes across 46 operations, leading to the arrest of 12 individuals.
