Bacolod city: The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) seized PHP286.724 million in illegal drugs and arrested 2,077 drug personalities in the past nine months since it was established in March last year.

According to Philippines News Agency, police units recovered 41,979.36 grams of shabu valued at PHP285.459 million and 10,535.53 grams of marijuana worth PHP1.264 million during the period from March 28 to December 31, 2025.

A total of 1,717 strategic operations were conducted, leading to the arrest of 2,077 drug personalities. In a statement, PRO-NIR Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said these were achieved through relentless intelligence-driven operations, close coordination with local government units, and strong collaboration with community partners and agencies. 'By combining intelligence, teamwork, and community support, we have effectively disrupted illegal drug networks, protected communities, and ensured enforcement efforts deliver lasting results,' he added.

Bacolod City Police Office recovered 18,783.07 grams of shabu worth PHP127.724 million and 10,207.41 grams of marijuana valued at PHP1.224 million, with 586 individuals arrested in 444 operations. The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office conducted 864 operations and arrested 1,059 individuals, resulting in the recovery of 4,375.909 grams of shabu, amounting to PHP29.756 million and 306.222 grams of marijuana worth PHP36,746.64.

The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office seized 18,813.78 grams of shabu valued at PHP127.933 million and 21.9 grams of marijuana worth PHP2,828 after conducting 385 operations with 406 drug personalities arrested. The Siquijor Police Provincial Office conducted 24 operations, yielding 6.597 grams of shabu worth PHP45,077.20 from 26 apprehended drug personalities.
