Bacolod: The upcoming Renewable Energy Week and Expo 2026 hosted by the Negros Occidental provincial government will feature an electric vehicle (EV) display to showcase electric cars, motorcycles, and other clean mobility technologies. 'Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the growing role of electric transport in reducing fuel consumption and emissions,' organizers said in a news release on Tuesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the event is set to take place from May 7 to 9 at the SMX Convention Center. It will bring together government agencies, local government units, business leaders, renewable energy stakeholders, and communities to promote sustainable and reliable energy solutions for the province.
Solar solution providers will be present to showcase technologies and services that can help households, businesses, and local governments adopt renewable energy systems. They will also demonstrate practical solar applications and provide information on installation, maintenance, and financing options.
Policy and technical forums will feature resource persons from national agencies and local governments, along with energy experts, to discuss opportunities for advancing renewable energy. These discussions will also focus on improving energy efficiency among power consumers, including underserved and vulnerable communities.
Now in its third year, the Negros Occidental Renewable Energy Week and Expo serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, technology demonstrations, and partnerships that support the province's energy transition. It is part of the province's ongoing initiatives under its SecuRE Negros comprehensive power security program, outlined in the SecuRE Negros Roadmap or Negros Occidental Energy Sector Development Strategy and Action Plan, which is officially available online.
The provincial government's event partners include the Department of Energy, Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment, and Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc.
