Manila: Students of Muntinlupa City Technical Institute (MCTI) and those enrolled under the local government’s Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program will benefit from the public-private sector tie-up.
According to Philippines News Agency, digital business services provider TP, a member of the global operations of Teleperformance Group, has inked a memorandum of agreement with the local government of Muntinlupa and the MCTI.
Under the agreement, TP will provide MCTI and SIL beneficiaries with exposure and hands-on training to become job-ready in the information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) industry. Jeffrey Johnson, chief people officer of TP-Philippines, stated that building a strong talent pipeline is central to their human resources work, and the partnership with MCTI is a significant step forward.
Johnson explained that by offering students real-world training and a clear pathway to employment, TP is investing not only in the students’ future but also in the future of the IT-BPM industry. He expressed excitement about welcoming new talent and supporting them in launching careers in Muntinlupa City, as shared in a news release.
He also informed the Philippine News Agency that the upskilling program does not have a set number of enrollees but is part of the city’s ‘7K Agenda,’ which includes various programs aimed at providing residents with job opportunities and health care.
The initiative, through private sector partnerships, aims to enhance livelihood opportunities and constituent employability. The collaboration with Muntinlupa local government is among TP’s public sector partnerships.
Earlier this year, TP also signed agreements with the Bacolod City Government and Bacolod City College (BCC) for the latter’s adoption of the @SENSO Life Skills Academy Training Program, and with the State University of Northern Negros (SUNN) for the TP Launchpad tie-up, both targeted to strengthen academe-industry linkages.
