Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Wednesday reported a steady acceleration of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, marking significant milestones in the first quarter of 2026.
According to Philippines News Agency, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the recent accomplishments demonstrate that the administration's housing reforms are now translating into tangible outcomes for thousands of Filipino families nationwide. Aliling emphasized the importance of maintaining the current momentum to further accelerate and expand the 4PH program, following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In Bulacan, more than 1,000 working-class beneficiaries received certificates and symbolic keys for a housing development in Sta. Maria. Significant progress was also recorded in other regions through the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program, with over 1,300 individuals in Pampanga, including 397 families in the City of San Fernando, moving closer to land ownership.
In Laguna, at least 271 families secured their respective pathways to land tenure, while 180 families in Lucena City received Certificates of Entitlement under a Presidential Proclamation. Aliling stated that the government is adopting a multi-modal approach to address the country's housing needs, which includes vertical and horizontal housing, incremental housing, and rental housing projects currently being rolled out in Iloilo, Quezon City, and the University of the Philippines campuses in Diliman and Los Ba±os.
Aliling highlighted that there is no single solution to housing issues, hence the expansion of options to provide more Filipinos the opportunity to own their homes. Over 10,000 families have availed of subsidized housing loans through the Pag-IBIG Fund, benefiting from a record-low 3 percent interest rate aimed at easing the financial burden on the working class.
