Marcos Reappoints Abdurahim as NCMF Chief

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday administered the oath of office to Sabuddin Abdurahim following his reappointment as secretary of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) during a ceremony at Malaca±an Palace in Manila.

According to Philippines News Agency, Abdurahim will serve another two-year term as head of the NCMF, the Presidential Communications Office said in a statement. Abdurahim has been a seasoned public servant, having served three terms in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Tawi-Tawi from 2016 to 2024. During his tenure, he chaired the committees on Business, Trade and Investment; Infrastructure; and Budget and Appropriations. He also served as vice chairperson of the committees on Health and Education.

Before entering public service, Abdurahim worked for more than two decades as a medical technologist at the Integrated Provincial Health Office in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. Aside from his government service, Abdurahim was an accredited Murshid (spiritual guide or teacher) in the Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-Tawi region from 1999 to 2023. He holds a master's degree in Public Administration and has completed the academic requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy in Peace and Development.

The NCMF is a government agency mandated to promote the rights, welfare, and cultural heritage of Muslim Filipinos.
