"This is to accelerate innovation, digital transformation, and lifelong education - in the service of national development - with Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao as the key platform for impact in Mindanao and beyond," he emphasized. The partnership focuses on several pillars: green college and sustainability leadership, AI-enabled human-centered education , online and borderless learning, research exchange and global collaboration, employability and micro-credentials, lifelong learning, internationalization, and new program development. "This ensures we continuously refresh our portfolio in response to emerging sectors and national priorities," Maestrecampo added, stressing that the expansion is "not incremental improvement, but transformation at scale across all programs, delivery modes, and learner segments." He noted that Mapúa chose ASU for its alignment in ambition, execution, and impact, citing its global reputation for innovation and sustainability. "It is capability integration - helping Mapúa move faster, benchmark higher, and deliver outcomes that are globally relevant and locally meaningful," Maestrecampo said. From 2022 to 2025, the partnership initially focused on business and health sciences, resulting in accelerated enrollment growth. The formal launch in Davao signals expansion across disciplines, with a vision of fostering sustainable socio- economic growth through innovation and lifelong education. Paul Tan, senior vice president for Southeast Asia at Cintana Education, highlighted ASU's global charter. "ASU believes that access to high-quality education shouldn't depend on geography. Our charter compels us to partner globally to expand access without compromising quality and to co-create educational models that are locally anchored and globally benchmarked," Tan said. He added that faculty development and institutional capacity-building will be strengthened, expanding opportunities for students and educators alike. Dr. Christopher Pio Pulido, supervising education program specialist of the Commission on Higher Education-Davao (CHED-11), said the partnership creates meaningful pathways for Mindanao students to access globally aligned learning and innovation-driven academic experiences.
