Malaysian Yields P112-M Worth of Suspected Shabu at NAIA

Manila: More than PHP112 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from a Malaysian at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Para±aque City over the weekend. The Bureau of Customs reported Monday that inspectors discovered approximately 16.526 kilograms of suspected shabu concealed in the checked-in luggage.

According to Philippines News Agency, the suspect was subjected to inquest proceedings for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno noted that the operation aligns with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and strengthen border protection measures, as mentioned in a Facebook post.
