Malaca±ang Declares Special Non-Working Days for LGUs in February

Manila: Malaca±ang has declared several special non-working days in various local government units (LGUs) across the country in February 2026 in line with their founding anniversaries and local festivals.

According to Philippines News Agency, the advisory was released by the Office of the Executive Secretary, detailing the special non-working days declared through a series of proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, by the authority of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The aim is to allow residents to properly celebrate their local occasions.

Feb. 2 was designated a special non-working day in the province of Ilocos Sur for its founding anniversary, as stated in Proclamation No. 1151. Meanwhile, Feb. 10 will be a special non-working day in the municipality of Talisay, Batangas, for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1152, and in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte for the Pamulinawen Festival, according to Proclamation No. 1154.

On Feb. 11, Iriga City, Camarines Sur will observe a special non-working day for the Tinagba Festival under Proclamation No. 1153. Furthermore, the Palace declared Feb. 17 a special non-working day in the municipality of Padre Burgos, Quezon, in honor of Padre Burgos Day as per Proclamation No. 1155.

Additional special non-working days include Feb. 18 in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental for the Tawo-Tawo Festival under Proclamation No. 1150; Feb. 19 in Bago City, Negros Occidental for its 60th Charter Anniversary as stated in Proclamation No. 1156; Feb. 26 in Zamboanga City for its 89th Charter Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1149; and Feb. 28 in the municipality of Tanza, Cavite for the 112th Araw ng Tanza as per Proclamation No. 1148.

The proclamations were issued upon the recommendation of concerned LGUs to enable their residents to fully participate in the celebrations.
