LTO Chief Attributes Successes to President Marcos’ Support

Manila: Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, on Tuesday highlighted several improvements made by the agency, attributing its achievements to the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mendoza expressed gratitude to the President for his comprehensive support in resolving the longstanding 11-year backlog of motor vehicle license plates. Mendoza emphasized that during a meeting last year, the President showed a strong commitment to addressing the backlog issue by pledging his full support for the agency’s efforts to expedite the plate printing and distribution process.

The LTO announced that the backlog for vehicle license plates, covering both four-wheelers and motorcycles, was officially eliminated by the end of June. Mendoza noted significant changes within the LTO under President Marcos’ administration, including quicker document processing, decisive actions against rogue drivers, and the widespread availability of license plates.

Currently, the LTO is concentrating on the swift distribution of these plates to their rightful owners, offering options such as door-to-door delivery through the LTO Tracker online platform. Mendoza expressed his satisfaction that President Marcos recognized the LTO’s efforts to resolve the license plate backlog during his 4th State of the Nation Address.

In response to the President’s directive to digitize government services, the LTO launched the Plate Registration Management Information System (PRMIS). This system aims to end the prolonged waiting periods Filipino motor vehicle owners previously faced when obtaining registration documents and license plates.

Mendoza attributed the LTO’s successful initiatives to the collective efforts of its personnel and the guidance of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon. He acknowledged that such accomplishments would not have been possible without President Marcos’ unwavering support, which inspired and motivated the agency to serve the Filipino people to the best of its ability.
