LPA Expected to Enter Philippine Area of Responsibility, Easterlies to Cause Cloudy Skies

Manila: One of two low-pressure areas (LPA) is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the next 24 hours, as reported by the weather bureau on Tuesday. This development could potentially influence weather patterns across the country. According to Philippines News Agency, PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres stated that one LPA is currently near the boundary of PAR but has a minimal chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. Meanwhile, another LPA, which is still at some distance, is projected to enter PAR by the weekend and has a higher probability of evolving into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. The presence of easterlies will continue to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies, along with isolated rains in various regions of the country. PAGASA forecasts that the Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan may experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. These weather conditions could lead to moderate to heavy rains, raising the risk of flash flo ods or landslides in those areas. The rest of the country is expected to see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while other areas will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters. Forecast temperatures indicate that Tuguegarao may reach a high of 38°C, while Metro Manila could see temperatures up to 35°C. The heat index, which reflects how hot it feels when humidity is factored in with the actual air temperature, may peak at 44°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Mambusao, Capiz. In parts of Metro Manila, the heat index could range from 38°C to 39°C.
