Losing pres’l bet, 2 other national bets file SOCE

A presidential bet and two senatorial candidates have filed their respective Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) two days before the deadline on June 8.

 

According to the Comelec-Campaign Finance Office (CFO), as of 5 p.m. Monday, losing presidential bet Dr. Jose Montemayor has already filed his SOCE.

 

Senator Panfilo Lacson was the first to file his SOCE among the 10 presidential aspirants in the May 9 polls.

 

Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno and winning senatorial candidate Jinggoy Estrada have also submitted their SOCEs.

 

The CFO has yet to receive SOCEs from the nine vice-presidential bets.

 

On the other hand, the number of SOCE filers for party-list groups has reached 34, after 23 more organizations have filed their SOCEs.

 

These are Act Teachers, Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamayan, Anac-IP Partylist, Gabriela, APEC, Recoboda, Philreca, Ako Padayon, Angkla, Magdalo Para sa Pilipino, Tulungan Tayo, Abante Pangasinan-Ilokano, Home Owner, Rebolusyonayong Alyansa Makabansa, Kalinga, Manila Teachers, P3PWD, Pusong Pinoy, Lunas, Patrol, Ang Waray, Magdalo para sa Pilipino and Babae Ako.

 

Two other political parties have filed their SOCEs — Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino. The first filer was UNIDO Party.

 

Under Republic Act 7166, all candidates and treasurers of the political party are required to file within 30 days after Election Day, their full, true, and itemized statement of all contributions and expenditures in connection with the polls.

 

Comelec Resolution No. 10695 has set the deadline for the filing of SOCEs on June 8.
