Manila: Film and television director and former Taguig City mayor Lino Cayetano has been appointed general manager of state-run People's Television Network or PTV-4, Malaca±ang announced Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez highlighted Cayetano's 'rare wealth of experience from the media, the private, and the public sector,' which he expressed would aid in elevating PTV-4 amid the dynamic multimedia landscape.
Cayetano, who owns Rein Entertainment, has previously served as the mayor of Taguig from 2019 to 2022 and as the Taguig City 2nd District representative from 2013 to 2016. He is also the brother of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
PTV-4 is currently under the interim leadership of Malou Choa-Fagar, who has been acting as the general manager since August 2025. Gomez expressed his gratitude to Fagar for her leadership at the state-run television network.
'I would also like to extend my profound gratitude to GM Fagar for her service to the station and the nation,' Gomez stated.
Founded in 1974, PTV-4 operates as the government's state-run television network under the supervision of the PCO.
